The initIn 2009, during a brainstorming session with my good friend Rick, we came up with an idea that we thought was truly one of a kind: renting out 2CVs in the Netherlands. The idea was simple yet exciting. It felt like a perfect match—offering people the chance to cruise around in a citroën 2cv that oozes charm and personality. And so, www.weekeendjeweg.com was born!
We started small, but the idea quickly gained traction. Over the years, as the word spread and happy customers shared their experiences, our business expanded. We even launched www.eendhurenlimburg.nl , a new site that was easier to find on search engines. That move proved to be a game-changer, and before we knew it, the 2CV rental business was thriving.
We’ve had the privilege of creating unforgettable memories with people from all over the world—whether it was a couple taking a nostalgic drive through the Dutch countryside or a group of friends enjoying a spontaneous road trip. We also began to offer packages that combined the 2CV rental with stays at charming hotels and B&Bs. Corporate outings and weddings followed, and seeing our cars as part of such special moments was incredibly rewarding.
After all those amazing years, the idea of starting something new was always lingering in our minds. And that’s when moving to Spain started to take shape. I Sold all my 2cv’s and stopped……
